Hello to all my students from 1st year of ESO. Did you enjoy your Easter holidays?Welcome to our blog. Now, start using it and tell me something about the book you read:what’s the story about?, is it easy to read?, is it an exciting book?…. I’m curious!NEW WORD: BOOKWORM. Can you see the picture? We say somebody is a bookworm when he/she spends a lot of time reading or studying. In Spanish we normally say “ratón de biblioteca”.
We had a great time and you were fantastic!!! It was a nice opportunity to meet people from other schools and share our experiences. Although at first you were all really nervous, you did it great (both at singing and at performing the theatre play). Congratulations!!!
You did a great job writing about your Biology project.
Check your posts to compare them with the previous versions.

5- How often do you study English at school this year?
Our project was to plant an orchard. We planted seeds of chickpeas, lentils, etc …
The first day I started planting. Paula put too much water and nothing happened.
The second day we transplanted all seeds to a pot with soil. We watered them every. The plants were located near the window so that they got light from the sun. As we had good weather they grew faster. Now they have already grown.
The first day, we planted the lentils, beans and chickpeas in cotton. The next day we put them in a pot and we watered them.
It took two days to see how they began to spring. We watered them every day until the plants grew.
Friday (2/3/2012)
-We started planting a vegetable garden, because Natalia (teacher of Biology) challenged us. She told us that no teachers would want to help us because of our lack of imagination and innitiative and if a teacher agreed, she would give us an extra mark.
During the break we decided that we werent’t going to accept the challenge because we didn´t have all the materials that we needed. When we went to class, I saw what the rest had done. Inside a lid they had cotton with lentils seeds.
In that moment I thought that nothing would grow up.Monday (5/3/2012)
During the break we planted more seeds because Ibtissam brought a lot of flowerpots. In the big flowerpot we didn´t plant anything because we didn´t have soil.
The seeds that we had planted on Friday hadn’t grown up, maybe because Paula had put too much water.
Tuesday (6/3/2012)
To my surprise, the seeds started to grow up. Then we put the flowerpots next to the window, so that could get light from the sun, but we didn´t plant anything else.
Wednesday (7/3/2012)
We decided that we should start again, because our vegetable garden was too small, but this day we weren’t going to do anything.
Thrusday (8/3/2012)
We only watered the seeds because they were getting dry. They continued growing up.
Friday (9/3/2012)
During the break on Friday we watered the seeds againg and we didn´t do anything else.
In the tutorship hour we went to get some soil and we spent the hour preparing a new vegetable garden .
After those days the plants were growing up in the window, now a lot of plants have got a stem and leaves.
I hope that effort will give fruits, because I think we tried our best and above all, because we need the marks that the teacher is going to give us.
We win more than we lose
