Verb “BE” (=ser ó estar)

affirmative form: I/he/she/ it was you/we/they were
Negative form: long forms: I/he/she/it was not you/we/ they were not
short forms: I/he/she/it wasn’t you/we/ they weren’t
Interrogative form: Was I/he/she/it? were you/we/ they?
Expresiones temporales que se usan con el Past Simple:
yesterday, the day before yesterday, last night, last week, last year, last Summer, last Saturday, a long time ago. a week ago, two years ago.
Examples: Last month we were at the sea I was at the disco last Saturday. My sister wasn’t in bed two weeks ago.
Questions and short answers:
Was your birthday last week? No, it wasn’t / yes, it was Were your friends at the disco last Sunday? Yes, they were / no, they weren’t

PAST SIMPLE - REGULAR VERBS
Para formar el pasado simple de los verbos regulares se añade la terminación -ED a la raíz del verbo correspondiente.

A) Según sea la terminación del verbo, a veces es necesario hacer algunos cambios:
1) Si el verbo termina en -y precedida de una consonante, se cambia la -y por -i y se añade la terminación -ED
hurry—— hurried study—–studied reply—- replied
2) Si el verbo termina en -e, sólo se añade la -D
arrive——arrived close—–closed
3) Algunos de los verbos regulares forman el pasado duplicando la consonante final y añadiendo -ED cuando su última sílaba está formada por una vocal seguida de una consonante y sobre ella recae el énfasis al pronunciarla.
stop—–stopped travel——travelled unwrap——
El pasado simple es igual para todas las personas (es muy fácil)

La forma negativa del Past Simple:
Sujeto + did not/didn’t + verbo
Example: I didn’t work he didn’t walk he didn’t listen
La forma interrogativa del Past Simple:
Did + sujeto + verbo
Did you see my father? Did he paint the table? Did she wash her hands?
Usamos los pronombres interrogativos para hacer preguntas.
What did you do yesterday? Who did you see last night?
Where did you go last weekend? When did you visit Madrid?
How did you go to the cinema? Why did he fail the exam?

Carol’s daily routine
Her name is Carol. She’s eleven years old and she is from Manchester, in England. She has got a lot of friends but Alice is her best friend. She’s a student at Greenpark Secondary School. On weekdays she wakes up at half past seven. She has a shower and then she has breakfast. After breakfast, she brushes her teeth and she goes to school. Lessons start at eight o’clock and finishes at half past three. She has lunch in the scholl canteen. In the afternoons, she goes to the gymnasium and play volleyball. She likes it. At home she dos her homewok and then she has dinner with her familly and after that she usually watch television or plays with her brother. She always goes to bed at half past ten.
