Reseña: 1984 is an interesting book about the dangers a society faces when the Government controls every second of the people’s lives and when loving another person can be punished with death. This story shows us that there is no freedom unless ideas and beliefs can be questioned.
I think that it is an outstanding book and suitable for all age groups.

Reseña: Robinson Crusoe is an amusing adventure in which a boy, at a very early age, wants to become a sailor. One day he meets another boy who was going to sea in his father’s ship so, without asking anybody, he decides to go away with him.
During the trip, they have very bad weather and the ship sinks. When Robinson manages to get ashore, he discovers that he is the only survivor; he is on a desert island and he has to learn to survive but, one day, Friday appears and his life changes.
Robinson Crusoe is one of the very few English novels that everybody knows, at least in outline, so I would invite everybody to read this book. It isn’t a very long book and it is entertaining.

Many people aim at having a successful career that will give them a lot of money and some social prestige. But a career doesn’t make people happy, so the main character discovers that there’s a different way of doing his job and, suddenly, a new life starts for him.
I recommend it because it can help you decide how to make an important decision.

Reseña: This book tells us the story of an English Spy during the First World War. There are actually two stories in the same book.
While you are reading it you discover different abilities as intelligence, cleverness and persistence that a good spy must have to be able to solve complicated situations in a foreign country.
I recommend it because you can read it easily; the vocabulary is well known and you don’t spend a lot of time looking for words in the dictionary. There is an inconvenient: this book doesn’t have a CD to listen to.

Reseña: Le passe-muraille c’est un livre dans lequel il n’y a pas une seule historie. Ce sont dix petites histories. Il y a des histories que parlent des gens qui a un don singulier; par exemple le premier conte qu’on peut lire c’est Le passe-muraille (un conte qui donne son titre au livre tout entier) et il nous parle d’un homme qui peut passer à travers les murs; ou Les Sabines. Il y a d’autres contes qui parlent des gens au Paradis.
Le livre, il n’est pas mal du tout, mais je crois que c’est un peu triste.
J’estime qu’il y a d’autres livres plus intéressants et plus amusants, mais vous pouvez le lire, il n’est pas difficile.

Reseña: The Pillars of the Earth is a historical novel by Ken Follett. This bestseller deals with the building of a cathedral in a town in England during the 12th century.
I did not know what to expect when I started reading this novel; now I believe it is by far Follett’s best story. The characters are very real and the depiction of medieval England is wonderful. One of the most fascinating elements is the way Follett explains how the styles of cathedrals developed and how cathedrals were constructed in the Middle Ages. Besides this scenario, deep feelings fulfil the ingredients to prepare this fantastic book: determination, jealousy, pride, bravery and personal ambitions and are the main themes moving characters.
If you start reading The Pillars of the Earth be prepared not to do anything else until you turn the last page.

As a whole, the book shows Giles Tremlett’s extensive knowledge of our reality and character, together with a respectful attitude, showing both vices and virtues. All the reading is peppered with personal anecdotes and enriched by new perspectives of old issues, which makes it a very readable and recommendable book.

Doveva trattarsi di una vacanza di tutto riposo, ma troppe cose strane accadranno nella vicina abbazia: frati che vanno in discoteca, un barbone pazzo… Alla fine tutti questi fatti cambieranno le vite di Anna e Marco.

Leggete il libro e lo scoprirete.

In questa cena lei conosce Luisa, che è sposata e ha due figli. E non posso raccontare altro. Leggete il libro. A me è piaciuto perché è una storia attuale. Mi sembra molto reale. Fino alla fine non scopriamo i veri sentimenti dei diversi personaggi.
