Der Nobelpreis für Literatur 2009 geht an die deutsche Schriftstellerin Herta Müller

Die in Rumänien geborene Schriftstellerin beschäftigt sich in ihrem Werk mit den Lebensbedingungen unter dem Ceaucescu-Regime, insbesondere was die Erfahrungen der deutschen Minderheit in diesem Land anbetrifft. Die Schwedische Akademie erklärte, Herta Müller zeichne „mittels Verdichtung der Poesie und Sachlichkeit der Prosa Landschaften der Heimatlosigkeit“. Viele sind von der Entscheidung der Akademie begeistert, denn die Autorin ist „eine Anerkennung für alle, die keine Stimme haben“ (El Pais) oder wegen „ihrer poetischen und ausdrucksstarken Sprache“ (Günter Grass, Literaturnobelpreisträger 1999), allerdings sind auch einige kritische Stimmen zu hören.Die Autorin beantragte 1987 ihre Ausreise aus Rumänien und lebt heute in Berlin, wo sie Mitglied der Deutschen Akademie für Sprache und Dichtung ist.

Wichtige Romane von Herta Müller sind: „der Fuchs war damals schon der Jäger“ (1997) über den Alltag in einem totalitären System, „Herztier“ (1994) über das Leben der Oppositionellen in Rumänien oder „Atemschaukel“ (2009).

German author Herta Müller has been awarded the 2009 Nobel Prize for Literature, the academy in Stockholm has announced. The 56-year-old Romanian-born writer is renowned for her depiction of life under the dictatorship of the late Romanian leader Ceausescu.
