Título: The Doll’s House and other stories

Autor: Katherine Mansfield

Editorial: Penguin

Obra adaptada: SI

Nivel: Intermedio

Reseña: All the stories of this book are based in values and all of them tell us about situations that could be real. The book is divided in four different stories and it isn’t very difficult at all to understand, although it might have some new words for you, depending on your level, but not too many.
I’ve liked especially The garden party because it represents something that, in my opinion, happens a lot of times in our current society.
I recommend reading this book; it’s amusing, easy to read and not too long. It can also make you think about people’s behaviour.

Reseña: This book includes four short stories. One of these stories is about a rich man who fell in love and thought that he could buy the love of the woman. The second narrates a robbery of a lorry but inside it there wasn’t what the thief expected. The third is about the millionaire’s will. The last story relates a game of cards with special companions.

Five Tales

Título: Five Tales

Autor: Oscar Wilde

Editorial: Oxford Universiy Press

Obra adaptada: SI

Nivel: Intermedio

Reseña: The Happy Prince, The Star-child, The Selfish Giant, The Model Millionaire and The Canterville Ghost are five classic tales written by Oscar Wilde (Ireland, 1954-1900). They are short stories for young readers that everyone has read at some point. The plot is really easy to follow and very sad. The characters are very young or very old, very good or very bad, very poor or very rich, they are very ill, starving … It is very cold, it rains, it snows …
The tales have a really predictable ending and we know what is going to happen.
