Reseña: This book narrates seven different murder stories. Reading these, you’re going to be able to answer questions like: why does a person turn into a murderer? What reasons make a person kill someone? What’s the way detectives solve murders? Each story is narrated from a different point of view; through some of them you’re going to learn what a murderer thinks and how he acts, and in others you’re going to see what the detectives do to catch them. Read the book, I’m sure you won’t be able to put it down.

Título: The Secret of Secco Canyon
Autor: Patricia Matthews
Editorial: Contemporary Books
Obra adaptada: SI
Nivel: Intermedio
Reseña: A lot of Native-American artifacts have been turning up on the market. It is suspected that a new Indian cliff dwelling has been discovered and is being looted. Rob Harding is working undercover as a ranch hand in order to identify the culprits. But what seemed to be an easy job begins to get complicated because of strange incidents…
This book is ideal to familiarize yourself with a lot of new vocabulary, expressions and phrasal verbs. Though it is not a book you can read leisurely without using a dictionary. Anyway, once you have started reading this mystery novel you won’t be able to put it down.

Reseña: Farewell, My Lovely is a famous black novel written in 1940. It tells us the story of a Private detective, Philip Marlow, who witnesses a murder. Marlow knows who the killer is, but the police don’t want to find the murderer and Marlow will get into a lot of trouble while he is looking for the Truth.
It isn’t a very long book and it is entertaining. I‘d recommend it for those people who like detective novels. The book also includes some extra activities and exercises.
