You’ve got a friend

This week, my 5th year students have been talking about the nature of friendship, so I’ve seen fit to post a beautiful song which has become a classic over the years. It is called You’ve got a friend and it was written by Carole King, an American singer, songwriter, and pianist, who was most active as a singer during the first half of the 1970s, though she was a successful songwriter for considerably longer both before and after this period. She can be seen on the video below playing the piano.

In Dublin’s Fair City

Last week, from 8th to 12th October, I was very fortunate to meet a bunch of fantastic educators during an Arion Study Visit which took place in Dublin, Ireland. The main topic open for discussion was the implementation of ICT in our school curricula. It was most interesting to share ideas and to discuss the common challenges we face these days, with a growing technology that is all around us and which we educators should integrate in our everyday teaching.

Molly Malone

In my last post, I mentioned just a line from a well-known traditional Irish song that will forever be associated with Dublin. I’m talking about Molly Malone . Since I’m currently in Dublin myself, I thought it might be just the very thing to post a video of The Dubliners performing that song live.
