Dunmore East Revisited

From 8 to 12 October, I was really fortunate to go back to Ireland after 15 years of absence. Let me elaborate a bit. This beautiful island is a very special place for me. I went there for the first time when I was just 19. By then, I had been learning English since 6th grade and my head was stuffed with lots of grammar, vocabulary, phonetics, you name it. But what I totally lacked was real practice in an English speaking country, and thanks to a series of circumstances I ended up travelling to Ireland (by train and boat for two days!!! I had to save money) in the summer of 86′.
Last Tuesday 30th October, we did a listening comprehension exercise during our lesson. It was a recording on the life of Mary Shelley, the author of what is considered to be the first science fiction novel, Frankenstein.
