Hi! As you probably already know, my name is Alison Brick, and I’m the language and culture assistant for the language school and high school in Luarca. I hail from Syracuse, New York (U.S.A.) and I’m 23 years old. I recently graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst where I studied Spanish and Art History. I also studied in Oviedo for 5 months during 2006. My interests include: long walks on the beach, traveling to new places, Grande Non-fat Caramel Macchiatos from Starbucks ©, not watching music videos, Syracuse University Basketball, my dogs Bella and Lucy, laughing every day, and having good times with great friends.

Alison smiles when she speaks about her mother, and she laughs when she speaks about her father, she appears like loving them two a lot, and also I think she misses them a grat deal; she is a very fond person, and I suppose her mother must be proud of her because she has found a natural way to go back to her mother as a woman, once her break from childhood has definitely passed
I´m very happy with Allison. I think she’s a really funny girl who talks to us about a lot of things abot her and her country. I do enjoy a lot hearing and talking with her.
I think Alison is a sweet girl and it’s nice to know about her life. Thank you Alison for your help with my english.
Raquel
Thanks a bunch for your comments, guys. I’m sure Alison will really appreciate them.
Cheers,
Javier.
Thank you, Coral, Angel & Raquel, for your kind comments. I really enjoy coming to class (your class is my favorite) and talking to you guys about my country and my life - and it’s nice to know that you like hearing about it! I always have a lot of fun and I also enjoy chatting with you outside of class for a chance to practice my Spanish!
Alison
Also, I am going to add this:
Javier, I have really enjoyed working with you this year! I love going to your class because it’s more like having a conversation with friends while learning and teaching, instead of just going to class. Also, I can never thank you enough for helping me with my zillions of questions and various other issues since I got here. It has meant a lot to me and I don’t know where Katy and I would be without you!
Peace out dawg,
Alison
Hello!
I know that nobody who goes to the school in Luarca has any idea who I am, but I am one of Alison’s good friends from the U.S. I am very jealous of you all because you get to see her and hang out with her everyday and I don’t because I’m at home!
You are all very lucky to have her for a teacher because she is a wonderful person, I’m sure she is a wonderful teacher, and I miss her terribly!
Buena suerte a todos! Hasta luego!
Erin xoxo
Hi Alison,
Believe me, you’re too kind! I’ve just treated Katy and you in the same way I would like to be treated if I were living abroad. Anyway, you two deserve it.

Hi Erin,
Nice of you to visit my blog. I couldn’t agree more; Alison is a wonderful person and we’re all grateful to have her with us.
Come back any time.
Javier.
Hello everyone!
So I really enjoyed watching this video and reading Alison’s brief biography. This is a really great website that you’ve set up Javier. Also wanted to thank you and your family for everything you’ve done for us! You guys rule!
Adios!
Katy
Hi Katy,
You’re too kind, honestly. It’s no big deal about what I’ve done so far. I’ve enjoyed every minute of it. Thanks also for your nice compliments about this blog. BTW, if you have any suggestions, I’d love to hear about them.
Take care,
Javier.
P.S.: your carrot cake rocks, baby!!!
Wow Alison, this website is soooooooooooo cooooool. You look great in the video (nice job) and the comments are so nice. You have lots of people that think so highly of you - maybe we’re related? Congratulations, I’m happy for you and your friends! Look forward to seeing you someday (in the states).

ALISON! This website is awesome! You rock! I miss you and I want you to come home so I can come visit you in New York and see you in Cleveland. I graduate in 79 days from Nursing School and I will be moving back to Michigan. Exciting! I know your parents miss you and so do all of your friends! I am so glad to see you are doing well over there - you will do well no matter where you are! You look hot - love the hair as always!
MISS YOU & LOVE YOU! XOXO
Your favorite cousin in the world,
Hallie
P.S. - I am surprised that uncle dole figured out how to post a comment since all this is in Spanish and he still has trouble with English! (ha)
Javier, What a great blog! The topic of this website is a great lady named Alison Brick. What a neat person she is. She’s beautiful, smart a a whip, outgoing and what a peronality. I wish I was around her all the time but unfortunately, I live in the USA. I read an article in the newspaper here and there is a big search going on. It’s called where in the world is Alison Brick. Sort of like Where’s Waldo? Alison can explain it to you if you don’t know about Waldo. But Alison is great, I know because I’m her Dad. Big Dadoo
Hi Big Dadoo,
It’s really nice to hear from you on my blog. As I’ve already told other people in your family, we all feel so fortunate to have Alison with us at EOI Luarca. She is a wonderful person and is always willing to give us a hand and to collaborate in any lesson we are interested in. For instance, last Thursday Luisa (another English teacher) and I asked her if she would mind preparing an activity on movies, you know, related vocabulary and expressions. She did a fantastic job and gave every student a most professional looking hand-out, which she then used for our lesson. I truly believe she has what it takes to become a great teacher (though I’ve heard her mom would like her to choose another career… oops).
Ok, Dadoo. I’m so happy you like this blog. Keep coming back and let me know about any suggestions you might have, as I do like to keep improving this little adventure of mine. Please say hello from me to your wife, who was also very kind on her last comment.
Take care,
Javier.
Hola!
Nice talking with you!
These accolades are well deserved!
It was wonderful hearing the wonderful things that your friends said about you.
We’re looking forward to you coming home and we’ll have a belated birthday celebration. You can teach us Spanish when you get home.
In the meantime, stay well and be happy. We send you love and kisses (although the kisses don’t translate over the internet very well…) so you can collect when you get home.
Au revoir (adios, hasta la vista)
Your message made our day.
