Writing assignment

Posted by fcojavim under Advanced students

Please remember there’s a writing assignment due for next Monday. You can find it on the writing section at the end of unit 8 of our textbook.

And now let’s go back to our song-about-the-rain challenge. I posted the first one just a couple of days ago and already María Valdés, my dear colleague from EOI Oviedo, left a comment to contribute another song. It is called “Why Does It Always Rain On Me?”, and the band is called “Travis”, a Scottish alternative rock band from Glasgow.

Well, I daresay we all have had our fair share of rain in the last few days, which has got me thinking about all the beautiful songs that have some connection with this atmospheric phenomenon. Here’s a challenge. How many songs related to rain can you think of?

I’m going to post the first one that comes to me whenever I think of rain. It’s a classic rock tune by the unforgettable Creedence Clearwater Revival.

ELLA is an online multimedia resource project aimed at supporting the new English courses that started in 2007 in all the EOIs in Asturias, for people aged 18 to 30. Having said that, it also provides interactive and practical lessons for all kinds of students, so we believe it could prove a most useful site for all of you EFL learners.

I have been really fortunate to participate in this project along with two great colleagues, Carmen López from EOI Mieres and María Valdés from EOI Oviedo. The three of us are having lots of fun creating new materials for all of you out there.

Why don’t you give it a try and see how you like it? Please leave some comment and let us know what you think about this new site. We would be delighted to get your feedback.

I have included ELLA in my link list, so you can go back to it whenever you like from this blog.
