As you all know, St. Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland and March 17th is the date to celebrate all things Irish wherever you may be. In today’s class Aurelio is going to give a presentation on his recent trip to the Emerald Isle, after which we will enjoy a few spectacular videos on Ireland’s nature and history I have found on a specific section of pbs.org, the American public TV’s website, which by the way offers great materials for teachers of all kinds of subjects.

If you are in the mood for some natural relaxation while you practise your listening skills, click on the picture below to access a full episode on Ireland.

Are women fashion victims?

Posted by marcoshblu0e under Debate

Hello everybody,
Well, first of all I believe in a non-discriminated society. I think women fashion is one of the points that feminist groups show as a sex discrimination behaviour and I totally disagree. Women dress up in the way they want in order to catch the attention of men, and men do the same in the opposite way. I think men would like to think of women dressed up in good taste, made up, with a feminine touch… I suppose most women would like men with athletic bodies, tall, with hair on their heads, intelligent, (supermen)…. And are we fashion victims? Of course not. Women and men do the things they want and this doesn´t mean we (men) think we are better than them. I don´t like women who look like men and I supposse women don´t like men who look like their sisters. Well, I think it is time for another classmate to have their say here.
