Over 6 months have gone by since I last published a post on this blog, and it was about some kind of farewell because I was leaving for the Philippines in just a month. I am writing now to tell all of you who have been following this blog, this exciting adventure I started for my English students at EOI Luarca, that this new experience of mine in the Philippines is being extremely interesting and formative. My main job as Education Advisor at the Spanish Embassy involves coordinating and implementing a specific plan to support Spanish teaching in the Philippine education system, and it is proving most exciting to start a new Education Office from scratch and getting to know everybody who is concerned in this matter.
What I cannot deny is that sometimes I miss my classes, sharing very special moments with my great students in Luarca, the sheer simplicity of entering a classroom and enjoying teaching and interacting with highly motivated students for 90 minutes. Well, the best thing about this new experience is that I will learn lots of things I will be able to share with my students once again when I go back to Luarca in a few years.
For the time being, please know my last 4 years at EOI Luarca were the best I have ever had as an EFL teacher. Keep learning and practising your English as much as you can, and take care.
Javier.

Hi Javier,
It´s nice to hear from you again I hope you really are enjoying your new life there in Philippines .Thanks for updating your blog and let us know .I try to use my english as much as I can and I miss your lessons and the EOI very much.Unfortunately,as we spoke some times in the past,we the students, haven´t been able to launch any kind of comunity or club or whatever in order to keep in touch and practising our english;may be in a future. Anyway, happy to know you are ok .
Best regards,ciao!
Hiya Ernesto!
So nice to hear from you again after such a long time. Your are absolutely right in saying that sometimes it’s hard to get former EOI classmates gathering together to keep chewing the fat in English, like you used to do at the school, that’s life. Anyway, I am sure you are doing all you can, same as ever.
I promise to resume my work on this blog when I get back to my former EOI in Luarca, though right now, to be perfectly honest with you, I don’t know when that will be.
Take care,
Javier.
Hi Javi, I am really happy to discover you are enjoying your new experience in the Phillipines! and also to discover that you do share this experience with all these people from Luarca you never forget about. I must admit that it is a long time since we last met (it was two years ago in an exam), but I have never forgotten about you and the excellent English lessons you gave to all of those who were so glad to be in our EOI.
I only want to wish you the best in the Phillipines or anywhere you may go in the future, and I really hope we will meet some day. It will be a real pleasure.
Thank you for all your good advice,
Kind regards,
Lourdes
PS. Do you know how could I contact Michel? I’d really like to write some lines to him…
Hi Lourdes,
So kind of you to get in touch after all this time. I have sent you an email to let you know Michel’s addresses, did you get it?
Take care,
Javier.
