Reply to Alison’s View

Posted by marcoshblu0e under Debate

Hello

the question can be interpreted in some ways: Alison thinks “fashion victims” means someone who is wearing horrible clothes but I think the victims are the rest of the people whose eyes are unfortunate witnesses of this aberration. We are the suffering targets that have to support the other people’s bad taste.

But I think our society thinks about “fashion victims” as a kind of self-slavery: people who like sharp muscles and go to the gym every single day, women in very high heel shoes even though they are uncomfortable, people who like wearing expensive clothes and the like. This behaviour not only is stressing but it also  demands sacrifice, money and time. Therefore, I believe we should avoid it and enjoy our time and spend our time  on other important things like travelling, going out with friends and, some weird students, learning English.

I would like to encourage the rest of my classmates to write in Javier’s blog to have a wide range of opinions. Otherwise Toña and I look like a pair of creeps.

Are women fashion victims?

Posted by marcoshblu0e under Debate

Hello everybody,
Well, first of all I believe in a non-discriminated society. I think women fashion is one of the points that feminist groups show as a sex discrimination behaviour and I totally disagree. Women dress up in the way they want in order to catch the attention of men, and men do the same in the opposite way. I think men would like to think of women dressed up in good taste, made up, with a feminine touch… I suppose most women would like men with athletic bodies, tall, with hair on their heads, intelligent, (supermen)…. And are we fashion victims? Of course not. Women and men do the things they want and this doesn´t mean we (men) think we are better than them. I don´t like women who look like men and I supposse women don´t like men who look like their sisters. Well, I think it is time for another classmate to have their say here.

Loch Ness Monster

Posted by marcoshblu0e under Advanced students

nessie1.jpgHello Javier

I am posting these videos about Loch Ness and its monster to warm up our trip. The fourth video is about water and the pipeline that takes it to the city of Glasgow. I think it is very interesting and the speaker is a Scottsman who speaks clearly enough.
