Comenius project: Visiting Graz

In the first fortnight of october 2009 two teachers from La Marina Primary School - Alfonso de la Torre, who coordinates the project in Spain, and Trinidad Álvarez, from Peón III School- were attending to a meeting at Graz, with partners from Northern Ireland, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Netherlands and, of course, Austria.

   From May 4th to May 8th we have celebrated the 10th Healthy week.

   Since three years ago the teachers of english collaborate with the project and organize an English breakfast. However, this year we have introduced a funny change: Our pupils cooked healthy recipes and ate the results of that experience.

   We have worked and tasted:

  • Strawberry Banana Smoothie Recipe
  • Fruits Kebab
  • Couscous Salad
  • Toasts

The Chart project visits Norway

We’ve got a European project, called Chart (Children Acting Responsibly Togheter), with schools from Norway, Finland, Austria, Holland, Denmark and Northern Ireland. You can know more about this visiting our project web:

From 8th to 12th of March we were visiting Kirkeby Skole, at Norway.

There we were visiting Kirkeby school and talking about how the project is going on and planning what we are going to do next term.

In the picture above you can see most of the partners who participate in this meeting.

Teachers and pupils from the norwegian school vere very friendly and it all can be considered as an experience for life.

We want to thank to kirkeby school its hospitality and friendship. Next meeting is in Northern Ireland, but they all will come to Spain in May 2010.

What is Pancake Day?

What is Pancake Day?
Pancake Day in the UK is also known as Shrove Tuesday, and is celebrated as Carnival elsewhere in the world. Celebrated on 24th February in 2009, it falls just before Lent, and was traditionally a day of fun and feasting before fasting for 40 days of Lent.

What is it?

The “School Day of Non-violence and Peace” (DENIP), founded in 1964 and also known as World or International Day of Non-violence and Peace, is a pioneering, non-state, non-governmental, non-official, independent, free and voluntary initiative of Non-violent and Pacifying Education, which is now practised in schools all over the world and in which centres of education, teachers and students of all levels and from all countries are invited to take part.
