FREE ENGLISH TESTS AND EXERCISES

I have just found this site to practise grammar, reading and listening. I hope it is useful.

IRREGULAR VERBS

I have found this video by chance and I think it may be useful to help you learn/revise irregular past tenses.

INTERESTING SITES

We must thank Cani for telling us about these two sites. From now on you can find them in the section  interesting sites on the right. I think the one about pronunciation may be useful for all levels, the one about news is a good one to keep up to date with the latest events all over the world, you can listen while you read about what has happened during the last few days.

Thank you for sharing Cani.

OUR FAVOURITE SCENES

This is one of my favourite film scenes just because I  like her determination to go on despite the difficulties. I admire people who, in times of trouble, grip their fists and their teeth, look ahead and carry on. What I don’t like is the way she achieves her goal, for her anything is acceptable if it leads to a successful result, though that result is not so successful in her case; remember the scene at the end of the film when her husband abandons her and says: ‘Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn’ (that scene also deserves a comment, don’t you think so?, especially her ‘I’ll think about it tomorrow‘).

I also like the scene for personal reasons. It was about 15 years ago that  a colleague picked up a floppy disk that we had all been given at work, raised her hand gripping the floppy (it reminded me of this scene I’m commenting on) and looking at it in desbelief said: ‘I want everybody to know that this is the first time I get in touch with new technologies’. Years later she would become an expert on the topic.

If you can think of a scene worth commenting on, do it please.
