The life of David Gale is a 2003 film directed by Alan Parker, and it stars Kevin Spacey, Kate Winslet and Laura Linney, their performances are very convincing ,and the story is told in a gripping way, that makes you keep watching until the end..
The plot is about capital punishment, and it is clear that the director is against these sentences and he shows it. David Gale (Kevin Spacey) is a good father and popular philosophy professor, and an activist advocate against capital punishment, a man who has always lived following his principles, but suddenly everything turns against him and he ends being sentenced to death for the rape and murder of his activist colleague ( Laura Linney) of the organisation “deathwatch”. Sophie Kinsella is Madeleine Wickham´s pen name, a former financial journalist and the author of the best-selling shopaholic novels, including “Shopaholic and Sister” and “The Undomestic Goddess”. Her books have been translated into more than 30 languages. She studied at Oxford University, she is married to a teacher and she has 2 children. The main character of “The Undomestic Goddess”, Samantha Sweeting, is a brilliant attorney who works for one of the most important law firms in London. She is completely stressed-out and she doesn’t have time to enjoy any form of social life or even celebrate her own birthday. She is too busy trying to achieve her life’s dream: become a partner at her law firm. And, at the age of 29, it appears she has succeeded.

First, I must say I bought and read the book on a trip to London just before last Christmas. I loved it. I really like music, I consider it one of the most important parts of my life, and a book like this one, with a protagonist, Rob, who also loves music and is also feeling insecure in his life, was a really great reading.I had seen the film years ago. John Cusack plays the starring role, and you can also see Jack Black playing the histrionic worker in Rob’s record shop. Their performances are quite good (at least I think so), and even Bruce Springsteen performed a brief and small cameo in the film (this is obviously a great asset for a huge Springsteen fan like me).
In the film, Springsteen’s weight on the plot is somewhat bigger and more important then in the book. That’s the first difference I remember.
