He was called SuperSic. He was a controversial, irreverent idol of people and for a majority of the youthness, a model to be followed. At Marco Simoncelli had already reached the glory and fame riding his Honda until death came dressed up as the Great GPMoto Championship and crossed his way.
When I knew the fatal event it came to my mind the known mythic sentence in the world of rock music that goes ” Live as quickly as you can, die young and make a handsome corpse of yourself”. One of his partners made a compliment of him talking about his aesthetics, his thrustful way of running; on the other hand, Dani Pedrosa has mentioned the fact of its being such a risky sport. I can add that in this case, as in many others like it, not everything is valid to win.
Simoncelli has suddenly finished his project of life and he leaves us the question of what things will no longer happen because he is not here amongst us any more. Maybe he is the perfect symbol, the new martyr in a period of time when things must be done for yesterday; where the effort is not valid if one can not destroy one´s oponents; where what is really important is the easy success and the fast- made money; where the labour of a lot of boys and girls, who work and study hard everyday, is just a life full of names shadowed by a destructive ephemeral lightning. What a pity!
