FRIDGE OR REFRIGERATOR?

Publicado en School year 11-12 — 26 Enero 2012 @ 11:26 pm

“Fridge” and “refrigerator” are synonyms. “FRIDGE” is more popular in the British English language, while  “REFRIGERATOR” is more commonly  used by the Americans. But both have the same meaning: “a machine which keeps food cold and so prevents it from going bad”. The title of this article is only an excuse to present a sketch performed by  students from fourth grade. In the scene they are practicing interrogative questions using “is there…?”. You can also go to the article Alvaro´s fridge in this blog to see more about the same topic.

See also this beautiful video with the song  “WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD”  by the American singer Louis Armstrong. This film shows pretty scenes in our planet and makes us develope a positive thinking of life. Enjoy it !!!

 I SEE TREES OF GREEN,
RED ROSES TOO
I SEE THEM BLOOM
FOR ME AND YOU

AND I THINK TO MYSELF
WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD.

I SEE SKIES OF BLUE
AND CLOUDS OF WHITE
THE BRIGHT BLESSED DAY,
THE DARK SACRED NIGHT

AND I THINK TO MYSELF
WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD.
THE COLORS OF THE RAINBOW
SO PRETTY IN THE SKY
ARE ALSO ON THE FACES
OF PEOPLE GOING BY
I SEE FRIENDS SHAKING HANDS
SAYING “HOW DO YOU DO”
THEY´RE REALLY SAYING
“I LOVE YOU”

I HEAR BABIES CRYING,
I WATCH THEM GROW
THEY´LL LEARN MUCH MORE
THAN I´LL EVER KNOW

AND I THINK TO MYSELF
WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD
YES I THINK TO MYSELF
WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD.

We have been learning “fruit names” in third grade this week because they are healthy and tasty. We show here some of our children´s  drawings about fruit. They were all made by students in the group 3rd B.

LEARNING SOME VERBS

Publicado en School year 11-12 — 1 Diciembre 2011 @ 12:18 am

Is the “verb”  the most important part of a sentence?. Little children don´t know the answer to this question but their teacher realizes about the importance of learning “actions” to understand  and make phrases. In simple  sentences like ” I can…” or “I can´t…” is necessary to use one action at least. This is what we are learning  in third grade at the moment. With the following film  everybody at school can revise some verbs. Thank you very much to the students in third grade who put their voices to make the film. Great work!!!
