SONGS FOR THE SCHOOL DAY OF NON-VIOLENCE AND PEACE

Publicado en School year 10-11 — 26 Enero 2011 @ 1:30

Let´s “Give peace a chance” is not only a nice sentence but also the title of one of these songs that we are learning in our English lessons to commemorate the PEACE DAY. We always do special activities about it on January 30th every year, just on the anniversary of the death of Mahatma Gandhi. “Blowing in the wind” is also a very meaningful song that children in fifth and sixth level are very receptive to understand. But perhaps  “Imagine” is the most emotional of all the them. What´s your favorite sentence in this song?. Keep on reading to see the lyrics of three important songs.

  1. Miguel:

My favourite part of Imagine is:”Imagine no possessions”. I like Imagine.

  2. Loli Herrero:

Thank you Miguel, it´s very kind of you!. From this song I like when he says “Nothing to kill or die for”. I think this is full of meaning because John Lennon himself was “killed”. The “lyrics” of the song are like a bad premonition of John Lennon´s death.

  3. Guiomar:

My favorite part of imagine is “Imagine there´s no Heaven”

  4. Chiara:

My favourite part in imagine is “you may say I am a dreamer and I hope someday you”ll join us”

  5. Sara Alvarez 5ª:

My favourite sentence of Imagine is:”Nothing to kill or die for. And no religion too”
