DIFFERENT LIVES

Publicado por BLANCA el 23 Octubre 2008

When I was immingrant

I’m living in Corea.

I feel that this country is too cold with the immigrants.

I miss my country, the food, the shops and the people (my family).

I remember the beach with the tourist and the green of Asturias, it was extremely beautiful.

I’m in Corea because my mother found a good job and she decided to go there.

The life here is too hard because I don’t speak corean and the women are discriminated in this country.

My father and me are very irritated and my mother is only in the house for sleeping, then she goes to work all the day.

The school is different too. We need uniforms and the girls and boys are separated.

The food is horrible, everyday rice and rice. The cloths aren’t better. I think that this country is for strict people, and I’m very liberal person.

When my grandfather was an immigrant.

My grandfather was an immigrant. He came to Sri Lanka when he was young with his parents because there theyd didn’t have food.

He studied in Spain and then he traveled to France for working in a boat like marine. Their parents died in a car accident and he was alone in the world. He was only 16 years old. He traveled and traveled around the world. Three years later he returned to Spain and met my grandmother a little time after they got married.

When my mother was born my grandfather started to work again and he went to another country. My mother only saw him one moth per year, because if he didn’t work they family didn’t have money. When my mother was twenty-two years old my grandfather died because he had cancer.

When my grandmother went to France.

On the year 1960, my grandmother decided to begin a new life in the neighboring country. She decided to go to Strasbourg for working. With the money that she was saving, she would be able to buy an apartament in Gijón, eight years later.

Now, she tell us that it was one of the best experiences of her life. There she got many things:

-         She learned the language.

-         She enjoyed with the french culture.

-         She obtained the money to buy her apartament.

Five years before my grandmother was returning to Spain, my mother was born there, in Strasbourg.

My mother was speaking French perfectly but when she returned to Spain, she did not want to speak French and she forgot the language.

My mother was an immigrant, as many people in this time.

When I was immigrant.

Last year, I lived in Gijón but now I am living in Paris.

I feel really good because I love this city.

The lights are much brighter than in Gijón, and it seems that the city is more beautiful.

I miss my city, my family… EVERYTHING…

I remember when I was walking with my mother and we were speaking each other of so many things…

I have left many things there but I hope to find better things here… in Paris.
