“THE TIME MACHINE”

IES Mata Jove en Gijón

This Project has a duration of 3 years. This is our second year .More than 20 teachers are working in this project along with all the students of the 4th. year ESo of our school.

The aim is to make Europe a little “closer” to our students. We try to open door , to make them feel that they are a part of this continent. WE want them to learn other ways of living, working and studying, in fact we want to make them feel they are a part of this society that will be for sure so in their future.

This is not the first European Project in our school. Years ago we started a Comanius with Austria, later during the school year 2004-05 a Comenius Lingua 1.2 joind us with the Zespól Szkol w Chorzelowie- Chorzelow- in Poland . That was a challenge for us . We produced a conversation guide Spanish-English-Polish still in use today and we visited Poland with 20 students 3rd year ESO, for two weeks . Later, another 20 posih students came to visit us , participated in a lot of activities and formed part of ous school.

During theschool year 2006-2007 we started this Comenius 1.1 project working with

four schools from three different countries: France, Germany and Italy.

Our students have visited last year Villingenn.Schwenningen where the great meeting of all the students was held and they participated in all the activities there. Later, 10 german students sttayed with us getting to know their partners better.

This year, the big meeting will take place in Gijón we will be the hosts for 40 students and 10 teachers from the 4 different schools and will organise the meeting here in April.

Through this blog we intend to have everybody informed about our project.
