Due to technical reasons, we have decided to move our blog to a different domain. As so many people in this world, we migrate to a new place in search of a better life.

From now you’ll find us on Blogger. Click on the image to visit the new Blogging in English, and send us your comments on the new look of  our blog.

Every November the Gijón International Film Festival is held in different theatres and cultural centres in this town, and every November we look forward to our annual visit to this event, which has become a tradition for the school.

This year, we are watching two American films. Click on the titles to visit their websites, watch the trailers and find some information which may be useful to write your review.

This year we have organized many activities to celebrate it in our school. We will celebrate it on 30th October (a day before Halloween’s day).

We have been decorating the school  with BLACK CATS, BATS, OWLS, GHOSTS… as you can see in these pictures

  DRESSING UP                                           TRICK OR TREATING

                                    WATCH AN HORROR FILM

Do you  know any more  Halloween traditions? Are you going to celebrate Halloween this year? With friends? With your familiy?

While we wait for this SPOOKY DAY, write a comment and tell us how you will celebrate Halloween 2014.

THRILLER DANCE

Posted by elenamg under 2º ESO, English, Halloween, Videos

Do you know this video clip? A night at the movies turns into a nightmare when Michael Jackson and his date are attacked by a hoard of bloody-thirsty zombies.

The videoclip  was immediately a hit and received high critical acclaim, it was nominated for six MTV Video Music Awards in 1984 and it won three. It’s always worth seeing,  and now that there’s only a couple of weeks left for Halloween time, it will help create a spooky atmosphere…

Have a look an enjoy!

In the video’s most popular scene, Jackson leads other actors costumed as zombies in a choreographed dance routine.

Here is the short version of the clip, with the world famous dance

And now watch this video clip if you want to learn how to do the Thriller dance!

With the rush of the last days of school in June, there was no time to upload this material. It’s a photographic summary of the different workshops and activites organised to meet our fellow students from IES Sánchez Lastra in Mieres, when they finally came to visit our school after having worked together in different projects thoughout the year.

We have to say the experience has been really inspiring and motivating. We’ll be able to continue collaborating and developing new ideas this year, and we are very happy for it.

So, let’s look back for a while … and always forward to the future!

We hope you enjoy the slideshows and get ready for the new projects.

CONNECTING VALLEYS

We are very proud to show you a sample of the Diary of our pets in Asturias.  It is part of an InterschoolsProject we developed together with IES Sánchez Lastra last year.  Through the pets of both Bilingual Sections, Connie and Kiwi, the students from 1st ESO wrote about their daily life and free time activities. By describing their hobbies, festivities, family events, etc, they shared with us many special moments and a bit of their worlds.

Of course Connie and Kiwi were delighted to hang around in El Entrego and Mieres in such good company, and they ended up falling in love. But that’s another story…

Yikes! Hard to believe September is here again…

Although  you may be sad that the holidays are over, there’s always a certain excitement about the beginning of  school, yes? Wink

We are very happy to have you with us. We hope you’ve had a cool summer and we’d like to welcome you to a school year full of new things to learn and share.

Let’s enjoy it together!

Are you happy to be back?

In your opinion, what is the worst and the not so bad thing about coming back to school?
