A travel through Spanish Gastronomy and Fabada for KPUP Comenius team in San Martin Festivity

Students and teachers from Hotel and Cookery School from IES Valle de Aller offer European Comenius Project teacher a special menu based on a travel trough Spanish Gastronomy.

When we talk about Regional Spanish Cookery we are referring to the huge richness and variety of products and ways of preparations. Our gastronomy is fairly influenced by tree factors:

1. The diversity of climates and lanscapes.

2. The history of the country, under the influence of several cultures: reflected in the Mediterranean influence: Roman and Arab.

3. The discover and colonization of America and the introduction of new products and genders, such as: potato, pepper, tomate, beans, with traditional cookery much more settled than in the rest of Europe.

Spanish Gastronomy gets also rich thanks to the contributions of the different regions, joining together the traditions of the inside and the seaside parts of the country, and , respecting the melting pot among different products and preparations.

The varied concept of Spanish Gastronomy makes that some authors call it in plural: The Spanish Gastronomies. The present Spanish Cookery mixes two things: Classic cookery based on tradition and Modern cookery , with the use of the most modern tecniques and the result of reknown cooks all aver the world. Classic cookery  has important religious roots and some of the Spanish dishes have become international ones.

The Hotel and Cookery School of IES Vale de Aller offered the San Martin Festivity Menu to every one who wanted to come to its especial location placed in San Martin Church Square  with the reason of  the Festival.

The KPUP Comenius team was there and tried the tasty menu that our students had prepared and it was enjoyed in a friendly atmosphere. They could try the fabada and the traditional Asturian deserts. They also wore the traditional Asturian hat: la montera picona.

La Escuela de Hostlería del IES Valle de Aller ofrció el Menú de San Martín a todo aquel que quiso acercarse a su carpa instalada en la plaza de la Iglesia, con motivo de la Fiesta de Humanitarios.

El equipo KPUP Comenius estuv allí y saboreó el estupendo menú que nuestros alumnos habían preparado en un ambiente distentido y agradable. LOs profesores Comenius probaron la fabada y los postes típicos asturianos. En los postres, vistieron tambien la tradicional Montera Picona.

La Escuela de Hostelería del IES Valle de Aller, ha colaborado en los actos de celebración del XXV Aniversario de Valnalón, el pasado martes, junto al pastelero Miguel Ángel Sierra.

Nuestro cometido se ha ajustado al servicio de la tarta de cumpleaños en el acto final.
